Annually, NHNPA recognizes outstanding APRNs and supporters who have gone above and beyond to support our profession. Recipients are honored at the NP Week Nightin Gala and at the annual Northern New England Nurse Practitioner Conference. Nominations are accepted year-round. NP of The Year - To qualify, the recipient must be an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner and a full member in good standing of NHNPA. They should have made a significant contribution to the role of the Nurse Practitioner at the state and/or national level, in the areas of clinical, legislative, education, and/or research. The NHNPA NP of the Year is chosen each year by a selection committee, which is composed of the past seven recipients of the award. Nominations are collected throughout the year and submitted to the Executive Director via the NHNPA website. Each year, the recipient of this award is nominated by NHNPA for the annual AANP State Award for Excellence. In the event, the NP cannot attend the National meeting the board may nominate another recipient. Advocate of the Year - The Advocate of The Year Award is given to an individual who has made a significant contribution toward increasing awareness and recognition of NPs. Examples of past recipients have been physicians, legislators, and educators. NPs are also eligible for the advocate award for non-clinical practice initiatives related to leadership, serving as a preceptor, policy, politics, research, education, or community affairs.

Lifetime of Service - The Lifetime of Service Award is presented each year to an NP who, during their professional career has made significant contributions to the role, scope, and development of NH Nurse Practitioners.
